| Bob Collins lives in Aloha, Oregon, a suburb of Portland. Bob picked up his first camera at the age of ten and knew instantly what it was he meant to do. During his career he has photographed homeless people in Oregon for a fund-raising calendar, world-class athletes in Italy and Japan. Mount St. Helens in Washington state pre and post eruption, school children in Japan, vineyards in Oregon, forest fires in Idaho, Oregon and Washington for Time and Life Magazines. Mountain Bike and Circuit races up and down the West Coast. His newest loves are extreme sports: Kite Boarding, Windsurfing, BMX Biking and Skateboarding. Young people amaze me.
His client list includes: Life, Sports Illustrated for Kids, Schnitzer Steel, Runner’s World, Track and Field News, U.S. Forest Service, Riedel Envioronmental, RadiSys Corporation, TNT Reddaway , Velo News, Wilbanks, and Portland Brewing.
As if he hasn’t made his head hurt enough. Recently Bob has begun combining his still skills into producing videos. It’s amazing to see still images transpire into video. One can never learn too much.
He one had the privilege of meeting one of his greatest heroes, Eddie Adams at an event they were covering. When he asked Eddie what kinda photography he did he said,” Great photography kid, any great photographer has the ability to learn what it is he wants to do and do it well”. |
